Experienced Dog Bather — Full-Time (Escondido)
Hot Diggity Dog Resort in Escondido is hiring a full-time Dog Bather to join our grooming team. We're a busy boarding, daycare, grooming, and training facility, and we're looking for someone who already knows their way around a tub, a high-velocity dryer, and a nervous Goldendoodle. Ideally, we want someone who is career-minded and/or wants to become a Groomer/Stylist.
This is NOT an entry-level position. You must have at least one (1) year of paid experience working as a Dog Bather or Stylist in a professional dog grooming facility. Please do not apply if your experience is limited to bathing your own dogs at home.
What you'll be doing:
Receiving and returning dogs to their owners using safe, low-stress handling
Bathing, brushing, and de-shedding a wide variety of breeds and coat types
Nail trims, ear cleaning, and tooth brushing as requested on the grooming card
Communicating any skin, ear, coat, or other conditions you observe to owners and the Bathing Supervisor
Keeping bathing stations stocked and the bathing department clean throughout the day
End-of-shift duties: vacuuming, mopping, cleaning tubs, sanitizing tools and tables, laundering towels, and inspecting crates
What we're looking for:
1+ year of recent experience as a Bather or Stylist in a grooming facility (salon, mobile groomer, or resort/daycare with grooming)
Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments using humane, low-stress techniques
Familiarity with high-velocity dryers, slip leashes, grooming tables, and standard bathing tools
Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
Reliable, on-time, and able to work a full-time schedule, including some weekends
Friendly and professional with pet parents — you'll be the face of the bathing department at drop-off and pick-up
Physically able to lift dogs up to ~50 lbs (with assistance for larger dogs) and stand for long shifts
