Position Summary
Galloway seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to report to the Chief Advancement Officer. Overseeing a team of two, the Director of Marketing and Communications will serve as a key member of the Advancement team, working closely with Development, Admissions, and academic leadership across levels to ensure cohesive, strategic marketing and communications efforts schoolwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team
- Lead the development and execution of an integrated marketing and communications strategy that advances the school’s mission, enrollment goals, and institutional priorities
- Serve as the chief steward of the brand, ensuring consistency of voice, visual identity, and messaging across all platforms and touchpoints
- Partner closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and senior leadership to shape strategic narratives, manage institutional messaging, and support change initiatives
- Participate as a valued voice in Advancement event planning and attend events as needed
- Oversee all internal and external communications, including website, advertising, MySchoolApp, newsletters, publications, digital marketing, social media, media relations, and crisis communications
- Direct enrollment marketing efforts in collaboration with Admissions, including the development and execution of storytelling, messaging, and collateral materials for all associated aspects of the admissions process
- Partner with academic leadership to create and execute timely, comprehensive, and cohesive internal communications to new and current families throughout the academic year and summer
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate marketing and communications staff and external vendors, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Manage the department budget, timelines, and priorities to ensure efficient use of resources and high-quality deliverables
- Lead content strategy and production, including editorial planning, photography, video, and storytelling that authentically reflects the community
- Analyze performance metrics and audience insights to inform strategy, assess ROI, and continuously refine marketing efforts
- Support Advancement initiatives through donor communications, campaign messaging, and event promotion and collateral
- Serve as point of contact for media inquiries and proactively position the school within the broader educational landscape
- Ensure compliance with privacy, accessibility, and brand standards across all communications
- Communicate effectively with print vendors for all collateral materials and swag
