Description:
San Diego Powder & Protective Coatings is a fast-paced, family-owned sandblasting and coatings facility and field services contractor in business since 1999. Serving San Diego and Southern California over 25 years with a current workforce of 75+ dedicated employees operating from our 5 acre / 50,000SF facility. We are seeking highly motivated applicants for a customer service forklift operator that can assist in delivery driver and front office customer service duties.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
• Primary Work Hours - Monday-Friday 7:00am -4:00pm + Overtime and Saturdays as customer and department demands require.
• Pay Range: $20-25 depending on experience & references

Responsibilities and Duties:
This position involves experience in operating various size forklifts and large delivery trucks with 12-20' stake beds. Class C license required with a good driving record. Deliveries include all different types, shapes, and sizes of parts with a variety of strapping needs. The driver will load and unload the truck, by hand or by forklift.
• Forklift Operation, loading and offloading all customer and vendor deliveries and pick-ups, lifting and rigging of heavy objects.
• Able to positively interact with customers and coworkers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs.
• Able to multi-task / prioritize duties with various customers and requests throughout shift and complete all tasks through self-organization.
• Good communication and coordination skills with department leads.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, walk, talk and hear, while being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot, cold, sunny, wet and/or humid conditions)
• General Housekeeping and supply organization of forklifts, pallet supply, incoming and outgoing projects and materials.
• Overtime and Saturdays are expected as workload dictates.
• Bi-lingual / Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Word, and Quickbooks is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
• Must be able to pass E-Verify, pre-employment drug test and be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to read and write in English and perform basic math skills.
• Must follow compliance and safety requirements and standards, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for military base access is a plus.
