We are seeking a motivated yet friendly Retail Associate to join our new 6,000 square foot appliance showroom in San Marcos, CA. If you are looking for an opportunity for your hard work to have a direct impact on your paycheck then this could be the job for you.
Our main focus is selling appliances, but this is very much a hybrid position, where you will multi-task back and forth between sales related activities and light/medium labor duties. For example - one minute you will be moving refrigerators around the showroom and the next you will be selling those very same refrigerators. Some days will require you to break a sweat and get your hands dirty, but every day you will have the opportunity to make more money than just the hourly salary, in the form of commissions and bonuses.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to)
- Selling appliances!
- Engaging customers, building value and closing sales
- Barcode printing, offloading trucks, inspection, inventory audits, advertising & marketing (listing products online), customer service, sales invoicing, financial reconciliation, after-sales service
- Cleaning appliances, assisting with deliveries, sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning the bathroom, moving appliances around the showroom
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with product inquiries and selections
- Operating ERP system efficiently for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges (training provided)
- Conducting product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Upselling products & services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintaining visual merchandising standards by arranging displays and signage
- Performing business to business outreach to engage potential new customers
- Stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and ensuring products are properly labeled
- Handling cash transactions accurately
- Managing inventory levels through stock replenishment and stockroom organization
- Providing excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Assisting with supervising team members when needed and support a collaborative store environment
- Aiding in testing appliances to ensure functionality
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Full time availability is required (32-40 hours per week)
- Previous in person sales experience (retail, door to door, product demos, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability hold a conversation
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
- Must be able to use a dolly to move appliances around the showroom
- Ability to assist customers with loading appliances in their vehicles
- Friendly professional attitude
- Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, etc)
- Willingness to learn new things
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS (helpful but not required)
- Bilingual is a plus
- Experience driving a 15’ box truck is a plus
- Appliance repair or installation experience is a plus
- Telemarketing experience is a plus
- Previous management experience is a plus
COMPENSATION
- Hourly salary (based on experience)
- Commission on every sale you make (kicks in after 30 day probationary period)
- Spiffs and bonuses (randomly generated by management)
AVAILABILITY
- Must be available full time (32-40 hours) during store hours
- No half days or regular need to come in late / leave early
