About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Steel Fabricator / MIG Welder to fabricate architectural steel window and door units in our Vista facility.
This is a precision fabrication role. The work requires accurate measuring, clean welding, careful fit-up, the ability to read production drawings, and the discipline to meet quality standards consistently.
Primary Responsibilities
Fabricate architectural steel windows and doors from production drawings and shop orders.
Perform MIG welding, layout, fitting, grinding, and related fabrication tasks.
Measure and fabricate accurately to tight tolerances.
Interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and production instructions.
Work under the direction of the Lead Fabrication Team.
Maintain clean, consistent welds and high-quality finished work.
Identify fabrication issues before they move downstream.
Follow company quality-control standards and shop procedures.
Work safely around equipment, tools, materials, and other team members.
Collaborate with welders, finishers, painters, project managers, and production leads.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a skilled steel fabricator who takes pride in accurate, clean work. This person does not need constant supervision, but is still coachable and willing to follow company standards.

Required Experience and Skills
6+ years of fabrication and welding experience preferred.
Strong MIG welding experience.
Ability to measure accurately to 1/32".
Ability to read and interpret production drawings and shop orders.
Strong math and layout skills.
Knowledge of raw materials, fabrication processes, and quality control.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with minimal supervision after direction is given.
Ability to lift 30–50 lbs as needed.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Experience
Architectural steel window and door fabrication.
Custom metal fabrication.
Machining or machine-shop experience.
Experience with jigs, fixtures, saws, grinders, and standard fabrication equipment.
Forklift experience.
OSHA/safety training.
Work Environment
This is a manufacturing shop environment. The position may involve loud noise, moving equipment, vehicles, electricity, chemicals, heat, sharp materials, grinding, welding, and other standard fabrication hazards. Proper safety procedures and PPE are required.
