As we scale our operations to meet growing demand, we’re seeking a detail-oriented Journeyman Electrician to join our team and ensure the reliability of the electrical systems that power our grow rooms, climate control, and automation—critical to our mission of delivering safe, consistent cannabis to patients and consumers.
If you’re passionate about merging electrical expertise with cutting-edge agriculture and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment, we want you on our team!
Job Overview
As a Journeyman Electrician, you’ll be the backbone of our facility’s electrical infrastructure, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems that keep our cultivation operations running 24/7. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with growers, facility managers, and engineers to optimize energy efficiency, reduce downtime, and uphold the strictest safety and regulatory standards. This role is perfect for electricians looking to work in a dynamic industry where their skills directly impact crop health and business success.
Key Responsibilities
Install & Maintain Electrical Systems: Design, install, and service commercial electrical infrastructure in indoor grow facilities, including high-wattage LED lighting arrays, power distribution boards, control panels, and backup generator systems.
Optimize Grow Environment: Collaborate with growers to integrate electrical components with HVAC (heating, ventilation, cooling) and irrigation systems, ensuring optimal temperature, humidity, and light levels for plant health.
Troubleshoot & Prevent Downtime: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly (e.g., short circuits, wiring faults, sensor malfunctions) to minimize disruptions to critical grow cycles. Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g., testing circuit breakers, inspecting connections) to extend equipment life.
Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, and cannabis-specific licensing requirements (e.g., state cultivation laws). Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and certifications for regulatory audits.
Prioritize Safety: Follow lockout/tagout procedures, wear PPE, and enforce hazard communication protocols to protect yourself and team members. Lead safety training sessions for new hires as needed.
Flexible Scheduling: Work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts to address urgent electrical needs in a 24/7 operational environment (overtime pay available).
