Director of Finance – Nonprofit Organization
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with nonprofit standards
- Lead grant reporting and ensure proper tracking, allocation, and compliance with funding requirements
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes across departments and programs
- Conduct cash flow analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Track, analyze, and report organizational expenses with a focus on efficiency and accountability
- Coordinate and support annual audits and tax return preparation
- Maintain and optimize investment account performance in alignment with organizational policies
- Present quarterly financial updates and insights to the Finance Committee and senior leadership
- Strengthen internal financial controls and continuously improve accounting processes
Qualifications:
- Strong background in nonprofit accounting and fund accounting principles
- Experience with financial reporting, grants management, and audit coordination
- Proven ability to present financial information to executive leadership and board committees
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on financial management
