Job Description
The Computer Operator (IT Support) is responsible for supporting daily IT operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of computer systems, and assisting with routine technical and administrative tasks. This role includes monitoring systems, performing basic troubleshooting, and providing support to end users in a structured IT environment.
Key Responsibilities - Monitor and maintain daily IT operations and system performance
- Operate and manage computer systems, applications, and batch processes
- Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and system issues
- Support desktop systems, printers, and peripheral devices
- Assist with data entry, data validation, and record maintenance
- Execute routine tasks such as:
- System backups
- File transfers
- Job scheduling and processing
- Respond to user requests, alerts, and system notifications
- Maintain logs and documentation of system activities and incidents
- Coordinate with IT teams to escalate and resolve issues
- Ensure systems are running efficiently and report any abnormalities
Experience & Qualifications Required
- 1 3 years of experience in IT support, computer operations, or related role
- Experience working in a structured IT or enterprise environment preferred
- Associate s or Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- Basic understanding of IT operations and system workflows
Technical Skills - Knowledge of:
- Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server basics)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with:
- System monitoring tools and logs
- Batch processing / job scheduling (basic level)
- File management and data handling
- Basic understanding of:
- Networking concepts (connectivity, IP basics)
- Backup and recovery processes
- Experience with help desk or ticketing tools is a plus
