Barback Position (21+) – Weekends Fri/Sat/Sun | $18–$20/hr + Growth Opportunity
We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Barback (21+) to join our team for weekend shifts at Scena Fusion Kitchen & Bar. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment and is looking to build a long-term career in the bar industry.
About Us:
Scena Fusion Kitchen & Bar is an Italian fusion restaurant and steakhouse in La Mesa offering handcrafted pastas, premium steaks, and a curated cocktail and wine program in a modern, welcoming environment.
Schedule:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday availability required
Evening and late-night shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Restock beer, wine, liquor, glassware, ice, and garnishes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas
Assist bartenders during service to support smooth operations
Change kegs and assist with opening/closing duties
Follow all health and safety guidelines
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organization
Weekend availability (Fri–Sun) required
Prior experience is helpful but not required
Compensation:
$18–$20 per hour depending on experience
This is a strong hourly position based on skill and experience. Any tips received are a welcome bonus but are not guaranteed.
Growth Opportunity:
This role is designed for growth within the bar program. Barbacks receive hands-on training and, over time, may progress into a more advanced support role with bartender responsibilities as skills and readiness develop.
