Job Description Summary:
The IT Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Information Technology department, with a primary focus on procurement, purchase orders, accounting coordination, documentation, and general office administration. This role also provides basic technical support and serves as a liaison between IT, Finance, vendors, and internal staff.
Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative & Financial Support
- Prepare, track, and manage IT purchase orders, invoices, and vendor quotes.
- Coordinate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate billing and timely payments.
- Maintain IT budgets, expense logs, asset inventories, and procurement records.
- Assist with vendor management, including renewals and contracts.
- Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
IT Operations & Coordination
- Support IT leadership with scheduling, reporting, and communications.
- Maintain IT documentation, asset records, and licensing information.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Drive to multiple LA County sites to deliver equipment or assist in special projects.
Basic Technical Support
- Provide Tier 1 technical support, including password resets and basic troubleshooting.
- Log and update IT support tickets and escalate issues as needed.
- Assist with the setting up of workstations and peripheral devices.
- Support basic user training on standard IT tools.
Job Description Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of administrative or IT support experience.
- Experience with purchase orders or accounting coordination.
- Basic understanding of IT concepts and systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Current CA driver's license and reliable transportation
Job Description Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree preferred
- Familiarity with accounting Excel sheets, tracking, and documentation
- Experience with IT ticketing or asset management systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Job Description Work Environment:
- Office-based work environment.
- Occasional lifting of IT equipment and after-hours support as needed.
- Driving to multiple locations around LA County as needed.
