Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated
Pharmacy Manager to lead operations at our Hayward, CA location. This role also serves as the
Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and is responsible for overseeing the clinical, operational, and regulatory functions of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in
specialty pharmacy or home infusion, with leadership experience and a commitment to high-quality patient care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: - Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of 14 staff members, including pharmacists, technicians, warehouse personnel, and delivery drivers.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including compounding, dispensing, inventory control, and quality assurance.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of medications, particularly for home infusion therapies.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain workflow efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated patient care and service delivery.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and remain available to support clinical or operational needs outside standard hours when required.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development.
Team Structure: Total Direct Reports: 14 - 4 Pharmacists
- 6 Pharmacy Technicians
- 2 Warehouse Technicians
- 1 Delivery Driver
- 1 Warehouse Manager / Pharmacy Technician Supervisor
Qualifications: - Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or R.Ph. with appropriate clinical experience
- Minimum of 7 years of pharmacist experience, preferably with direct compounding responsibilities
- Specialty pharmacy or home infusion experience required
- Previous experience as a PIC strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CPR+ and/or CareTend software highly desirable
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and optimize pharmacy operations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
