Position OverviewAt Noble Machines, building robots is a team sport. As an Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of the systems and processes that keep the company running efficiently behind the scenes. You'll be responsible for managing day-to-day business operations across people, logistics, legal coordination, and vendor management-ensuring the team can stay focused on building and deploying world-class robotic systems.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where you'll work closely with leadership, engineering, and external partners to bring structure, clarity, and execution to a fast-moving environment. You'll be expected to operate with urgency, discretion, and a strong sense of ownership.
Responsibilities- Own and manage core business operations across HR, legal, finance, and logistics
- Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and benefits administration (e.g., Gusto)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners including legal counsel, payroll providers, and insurance vendors
- Manage travel logistics, field deployment coordination, and company events
- Build and maintain internal processes, documentation, and operational systems
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, contracts, and internal policies in coordination with legal counsel
- Support recruiting operations, including scheduling, candidate coordination, and offer logistics
- Partner with leadership to improve operational efficiency and scale internal systems
- Track and manage vendor relationships, contracts, and recurring operational expenses
- Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
Requirements- 3+ years of experience in operations, business operations, people operations, or a similar role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience with HR and payroll systems (e.g., Gusto or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with legal coordination, contracts, and compliance processes
- Proven ability to operate independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- High attention to detail and strong execution mindset
- Comfortable handling ambiguity and building processes from scratch
- Proficiency with common productivity tools (Google Workspace, Notion, etc.)
Nice to Have- Experience at an early-stage startup or high-growth company
- Exposure to hardware, robotics, or field operations environments
- Familiarity with benefits administration, insurance, and vendor procurement
- Experience supporting executive teams or founders
- Basic understanding of finance operations (invoicing, budgeting, expense tracking)
- Experience coordinating field operations or deployments
