Position Overview-
We are seeking compassionate, motivated individuals to join our team as Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructors. In this role, you will provide one-on-one support to adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping them build essential life skills and achieve greater independence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide in-home and community-based support tailored to each individual’s goals
Assist with daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, and personal organization
Support clients with budgeting, shopping, and money management
Teach and encourage use of public transportation and community resources
Promote personal health, safety, and self-advocacy
Support participation in recreational and social activities
Assist with scheduling and attending medical or community appointments when needed
Document progress and maintain accurate service records
Foster a positive, respectful, and empowering environment for all clients
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
Ability to pass background clearance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in caregiving, direct support, or human services
Knowledge of Regional Center services or social services systems
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
