K-VAC Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This position consists of mostly local routes with occasional regional travel, allowing drivers to be home every day.
We are looking for a safety-focused professional with experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in the environmental, waste transportation, tanker, vacuum truck, or roll-off industry. Experience handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste is a plus, but we are willing to train the right qualified driver.
The Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of primarily non-hazardous waste, with occasional hazardous waste, from customer locations to approved treatment, recycling, and disposal facilities while providing exceptional customer service.
Preferred Driver Experience
We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
Class A CDL commercial driving
Hazmat Endorsement Preferred (Not Required)
Tank trailer and tanker operations
Roll-off trailer operation
Vacuum truck or environmental services experience (preferred)
Manual transmission experience
Hydraulic equipment operation
DOT compliance, electronic logs, and driver paperwork
Loading, securing, and transporting waste or industrial materials
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Safe driving with a clean driving record
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate company equipment, including box trailers, tank trailers, and roll-off trailers.
Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Properly load, secure, label, and inspect all waste containers before transport.
Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), logs, manifests, work orders, and other required DOT paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain communication with dispatch and operations regarding route status, delays, or customer concerns.
Assist with loading and unloading trailers when necessary.
Maintain a clean truck cab and equipment.
Provide outstanding customer service while representing K-VAC professionally.
Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
Frequently climb in and out of trucks and trailers.
Lift, push, pull, and maneuver drums and containers using drum carts and pallet jacks.
Bend, kneel, crouch, and climb as required.
Ability to work safely around industrial and environmental waste materials.
Must have good distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions at customer locations, industrial facilities, transfer stations, and disposal sites. Drivers must work safely around heavy equipment and occasionally in challenging environments.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Class A CDL
Tanker Endorsement (Required)
Air Brake Endorsement
Minimum 2 years of recent Class A CDL driving experience
Experience operating commercial motor vehicles with a GVWR over 26,001 lbs.
Manual transmission experience
Hydraulic equipment experience preferred
Environmental, tanker, vacuum truck, roll-off, liquid waste, or hazardous waste transportation experience preferred
Clean driving record
Ability to read and write English (DOT requirement)
