Position: Eng/Spa Bilingual Front-of-House Team Member

Caramelo Café is a cozy, fast-paced Latino-inspired and eatery focused on warm hospitality, comforting house-made drinks and dishes, and a welcoming space that feels like home for everyone who walks in.

Position overview
We’re looking for a BiLingual (English/Spanish) Front-of-House Team Member who is excited to learn all FOH roles: food runner, busser, expo, barista, and host. This is a hands-on position for someone who loves taking care of guests, works well with others, and wants to grow their skills across the front of house.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through FOH stations: food running, bussing, expo, barista, and hosting as needed during the shift.

• Provide warm, attentive service that reflects our Latino hospitality and makes guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive until they leave.

• Food runner: deliver food and drinks quickly and accurately, confirm items with expo, and check back with guests for missing items or needs.

• Busser: clear and reset tables promptly, keep dining, patio, and service areas clean, stocked, and guest-ready at all times.

• Expo: organize and check plates before they leave the kitchen, coordinate ticket timing, and communicate clearly with both BOH and servers

• Barista: prepare coffee and specialty drinks to spec, maintain a clean bar area, and move efficiently during rushes while keeping quality consistent.

• Host: greet guests, manage the waitlist, organize seating and table turns, and communicate wait times and special requests clearly to the team.

• Use POS and other restaurant systems to support the team (ringing in items, printing tickets, checking notes on orders) as trained.

• Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and side work checklists so the café looks and runs like a professional, organized space every day.

• Support coworkers proactively: jump in where help is needed, communicate respectfully, and contribute to a positive, efficient team environment.

Qualifications

• Restaurant, café, or customer service experience is helpful but not required; we’re open to training the right person with a strong work ethic.

• Comfortable rotating through different roles and learning new tasks; enjoys variety and staying busy on the floor.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to take direction and give clear information to coworkers and guests.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, on your feet for the majority of the shift.

• Availability for weekends and peak hours; additional flexibility for mornings or evenings is a plus.

• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and guest comfort in all front-of-house areas.
