About GRI:
Gamma Reality Inc. builds and deploys real-time, mobile 3D radiation mapping systems in handheld, robotic (UAV/UGV), and vehicle-mounted configurations for some of the world's most consequential missions. Our core technologies in multi-sensor data fusion and nuclear engineering stem from over a decade of national laboratory R&D and are actively deployed across nuclear power, emergency response, defense, homeland security, and international safeguards. We're a small, fast-moving team of scientists and engineers building hardware that matters.
To conform to U.S. Government regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
The Role:
We're looking for an Operations Manager to keep GRI running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a broad, hands-on role at the center of our day-to-day operations. You'll own everything from shipping hazardous materials and managing business compliance to supporting the CEO and leadership team on cross-functional priorities. You're equally comfortable building a process from scratch, tracking down a missing shipment, and helping coordinate a team offsite. You thrive in ambiguity, take ownership naturally, and understand that in a small company, "that's not my job" isn't in your vocabulary.
Responsibilities
- Own on-site office operations and support lab operations
- Provide operational and administrative support to the CEO and management team
- Own end-to-end logistics for hazardous and dangerous goods shipments, including documentation, carrier coordination, and regulatory compliance (training provided if needed)
- Manage business insurance programs, including policy administration, renewals, and coordination with brokers for standard and specialized coverage
- Support monthly expense tracking and receipt review in expense platform, Ramp
- Maintain business registrations, licenses, and other required state and federal filings
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal processes and procedures across operations, logistics, and administration
- Support cross-functional coordination and planning across multiple simultaneous projects
- Manage office supplies, vendor relationships, and day-to-day facility needs, including receiving
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal office requests and team support
- Assist in planning and executing team events and company activities
- Support other business functions and special projects as needs arise
Experience
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to execute on complex, cross-functional processes
- 1+ years of experience in business operations, program/project management, or a similar role at a fast-moving organization
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners
- Sound business judgment and analytical problem-solving ability
- High tolerance for ambiguity; able to balance competing priorities and deliver quality work quickly
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with or supporting technical or engineering teams
- Startup, early-stage company, or small business experience
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or government contracting processes
- Background in supply chain, logistics, or regulated goods shipping
What We Offer:
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies making real-world impacts
