Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently clean, sanitize, and organize dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools to meet health and safety standards
Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, or assembling ingredients when needed from items on the menu according to recipes and quality standards.
Support banquet and catering events by ensuring all serving ware is spotless and ready for service
Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, including sinks, counters, and storage areas
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during busy service periods
Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold hygiene regulations
Contribute to overall kitchen cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal
Kitchen Operations:
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, utensils, and cooking surfaces.
Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely service.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Quality Control:
Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency.
Adjust seasoning and other ingredients to achieve the desired flavor and texture.
Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Follow all restaurant policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
Willingness to learn and take direction from superiors.
Must speak fluent English.
Must be available to work no less than 20 hours a week.
Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Prior experience in food service and fine dinning restaurant environment preferred; willingness to learn is key!
Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and food and workplace safety standards
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with bussing tables or supporting food preparation is a plus
Familiarity with catering or banquet setups is advantageous
A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires standing for extended periods and working in a hot and humid environment.
