CNC Machinist / CNC Lathe Setup Operator (2-5 Axis)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing aerospace and defense manufacturing team in Huntington Beach. This position requires the ability to independently set up and operate 2-5 axis CNC lathes while producing high-precision components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate 3-5 axis CNC lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components
Run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and production standards
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and technical specifications
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
Calculate machining dimensions and determine cutting operations
Monitor feeds, speeds, lubrication, and cooling systems during production
Inspect finished and in-process parts using precision measuring instruments
Verify part accuracy against blueprints and specifications
Operate both manual and CNC-controlled equipment as required
Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality standards
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform additional duties as assigned to support production requirements
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years CNC lathe setup and operating experience required
Experience setting up and operating 3-5 axis CNC machines
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
Proficient with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Willingness to work overtime, off-shifts, or additional hours when required to meet customer deadlines
Must successfully complete a hands-on machining skills assessment
Preferred Experience
Aerospace or defense manufacturing background
Experience working with tight-tolerance precision components
Multi-machine operation experience
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality control procedures
