Embassy of Beauty is a luxury beauty destination founded in London in 2018, dedicated to discovering the world's most niche and exceptional brands. We curate against three principles: authenticity, efficacy, and transparency. Every product is tested by our team before it reaches a customer.
We operate a flagship retail and treatment destination on Kensington Church Street alongside an established direct-to-consumer ecommerce business. We are now building Embassy of Beauty in the US from our Boca Raton office.
The Role
We are hiring a Head of Ecommerce to lead Embassy of Beauty across the US and the UK. This is a senior commercial role with two distinct mandates.
You will take over our established UK ecommerce and marketing function from day one. The London team reports to you: E-commerce Manager, Graphic Designer, and Written Content Manager. Your job is to lead the team, sharpen execution, and maintain the performance of the UK business.
At the same time, you will build Embassy of Beauty in the US market. The US business is a start-up. We are currently recruiting a Marketing Manager and an Operations Manager who will form the foundation of your US team. You will use the UK team as a resource for design, content, and ecommerce execution during the build phase, and hire out the US team in stages as the business proves itself.
You will report directly to the co-founder and own the group ecommerce P&L across both markets.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop the UK ecommerce, content, and creative team
- Build and scale the Embassy of Beauty US business from Boca Raton
- Own the group ecommerce P&L, budget, and KPIs across both markets
- Lead paid acquisition across Meta, Google, TikTok, and emerging channels
- Develop and execute SEO, content, affiliate, and influencer acquisition strategy
- Own site experience, conversion rate optimisation, and trading calendar
- Make trading decisions on pricing, bundling, and category focus
- Hire and build the US team in stages as the business proves itself
Who You Are
Essential:
- Seven plus years in ecommerce, digital marketing, or growth, with at least three in a senior leadership role
- Demonstrable track record of scaling a direct-to-consumer ecommerce business, ideally in beauty, wellness, fashion, or premium lifestyle
- Deep technical expertise across Meta and Google Ads, with hands-on experience of TikTok, paid social, paid search, and programmatic
- Proven people manager with experience leading ecommerce, content, and creative teams
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset, comfortable owning a P&L
- Experience building a team or function from scratch, ideally in a start-up or early-stage environment
- Comfortable managing a remote team across time zones
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable:
- Experience in luxury, premium, or niche beauty
- Familiarity with Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, GA4, and modern attribution tooling
- Experience working across US and UK markets or within an international group
- Retention, CRM, or lifecycle marketing expertise
