SMS Security is seeking highly professional and experienced Security Officers to support contracted security efforts. Officers assigned to this contract will provide security services for critical infrastructure facilities and assets essential to public health, public safety, and continuity of government operations.
Candidates must possess a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) experience in regulated, high-security, or mission-critical environments.
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through patrol operations, access control, surveillance monitoring, incident response, and enforcement of client security procedures and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
• Reliable Transportation
• Minimum three (3) years of verifiable Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) security experience
• Valid California Guard Card
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid California driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts
• Prior military, law enforcement, or utility security experience preferred
Qualifying experience includes security services performed in one or more of the following critical infrastructure sectors or similarly regulated environments:
• Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
• Energy & Utility Infrastructure
• Transportation Infrastructure
• Government & Public Safety Facilities
• Defense & Military Infrastructure
• Communications & Technology Infrastructure
• Healthcare & Emergency Services Infrastructure
• Industrial & Hazardous Materials Facilities
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to climb stairs and conduct perimeter patrols
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies
