JOB SUMMARY
The Service Manager works with the Branch Manager and is responsible for the Technicians and profitable delivery of HVAC and refrigerion services for a specific branch or branches. This Manager spends most of their time in the field and is directly responsible for the quality of work of the Technicians. Presenting themselves as a trusted company representive, the Service Manager often communices directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure accure communicion of job or project stus and requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and builds a collaborive team.
• Communices company direction, sets expections and holds team accountable; reviews opering metrics dashboards and takes approprie action to drive performance.
• Coordines and communices with Branch Manager on a continuous basis to assure both are in sync on all activities reled to the branch (e.g., manpower requirements, customer, purchasing, policy issues, etc.)
• Ensure Technicians are following customer & CoolSys standard work practice requirements.
• Helps support the procurement of parts and supplies when tech is on site if needed.
• Anticipes, prevents and resolves issues or problems th could impact customer sisfaction.
• Ensure Technicians are compliant with all inventory management requests.
• Responsible for staff performance appraisals, reviews, and setting improvement goals for their direct reports per company requirements.
• Interview, select, hire, and oversee onboarding of technicians.
• Facilites a regular training program to ensure th Technicians are properly trained on the lest service techniques and safety procedures for equipment and general working conditions.
• Monitors and manages performance and provides training, coaching and performance feedback to technicians.
• Ensures compliance of Service policies and procedures, including handheld compliance, refrigerant tracking, time and tendance, etc.
• Ensures use of PPE and the applicion of safe behavior, including driving, by all employees.
• Ensures customer service and quality of work meets customer requirements and CoolSys standards.
• Performs site visits to ensure proper quality of work has been provided; performs job walks and help with setting up small projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualificions:
• High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school.
• College degree, a plus.
• Universal EPA certificion
• 5 + years of hands-on technical experience in the refrigerion/HVAC service, commercial construction, or a reled industry.
• Prior leadership experience is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work a non-standard schedule: nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
• Knowledge of commercial refrigerion and HVAC principles and practices, including service hour estimion, labor forecasting, and multiple disciplines involved in the area of responsibility.
• Demonstred understanding of business acumen in a service environment (e.g., profitability, customer relions, quality, safety, etc.)
• Proficiency in managing multiple assignments, setting and balancing competing priorities with strong organizional skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to solve problems and apply good judgement.
• Excellent verbal and written communicion, and presention skills.
• Strong customer service skills, including an ability to proactively address customer issues, concerns, and ability to forge strong working relionships with customers.
• Complies with all applicable health and safety regulions, policies, and established work practices; ensures approprie employee safety training and compliance is completed.
• Valid Driver’s license with a Company required and acceptable driving record.
• Strong leadership skills, with demonstred experience managing a diverse and multi-discipline workforce.
• Experienced in coaching, training, developing, and leading a team.
• Proficient in managing time, deleging assignments and following through to ensure good results.
• Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable Ste and Federal laws.
• Ability to use typical business tools including Microsoft Office, Work Order/Dispch Software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, etc.
