Assistant General Manager
Part-Time · Weekend Availability Required · Leadership Role
ABOUT THE HIVE
The Happy Hive is a children’s active play place where all children are welcome and and families can relax knowing that their children are in a safe, nurturing place. We are looking forward to being able to offer more services for our community and are seeking a strong leader who wants to grow with us.
REQUIREMENTS
If you are a warm, organized, and energetic leader, we need you to help lead the team and keep the hive humming day to day. Minimum requirements are:
- High school diploma
- Experience working with children in a professional capacity
- At least one year of experience leading a team in a customer-facing role.
- Weekend and closing shifts are non-negotiable. We work hard to create an environment where our team can enjoy work-life balance, but at least 2 weekends per month and 2 closing shifts are mandatory.
- The position will start out at 25 to 30 hours per week but could potentially become full time as we grow.
- Experience with neurodivergent children is preferred, but we will provide training on this topic.
- Genuine enthusiasm for working in a children’s environment — patience, energy, and good vibes a must
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support and lead the floor team during shifts, ensuring a safe, joyful experience for every family
- Oversee opening and/or closing procedures and hold the team accountable to cleanliness standards
- Step into a management capacity when the General Manager is unavailable
- Manage scheduling, staff communication, and day-to-day operational logistics
- Handle customer concerns with professionalism and a hospitality-first mindset
