SUMMARY
The Sr. Director of Performance Marketing is a critical leadership role responsible for driving measurable, data‑informed growth across Buff City Soap’s paid media, social media, and PR channels. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is accountable for end‑to‑end performance strategy, including paid media planning, budget stewardship, and results across acquisition and growth channels. The Sr. Director serves as the primary lead for external agency partners, ensuring clear objectives, strong execution, and consistent performance accountability across paid, social, and PR efforts.
Partnering closely with Creative, Consumer Insights, and eCommerce, this leader ensures performance marketing strategies are tightly aligned to campaign priorities and business goals. The role focuses on optimizing channel mix, improving efficiency, and scaling what works—balancing short‑term conversion goals with long‑term customer growth.
This leader blends the science of performance marketing—testing, analytics, and optimization—with strong cross‑functional collaboration to maximize impact across owned stores, franchise locations, and eCommerce. They continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, expand reach, and strengthen Buff City Soap’s competitive position through high‑performing media and partnership strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and scale Buff City Soap’s performance marketing strategy, including paid media, social media, and PR, to drive measurable growth in awareness, traffic, customer acquisition, and revenue.
- Own end‑to‑end paid media strategy and execution, including budget planning, channel mix, optimization, and performance management across all digital and performance channels.
- Serve as the primary lead for external agency partners (media, social, PR), setting clear objectives, managing day‑to‑day collaboration, and holding partners accountable to performance outcomes.
- Oversee social media strategy for performance and amplification, ensuring paid and organic social efforts work together to drive reach, engagement, and conversion.
- Partner closely with IMC to support integrated campaigns, ensuring performance channels effectively amplify priority messages, launches, and seasonal initiatives.
- Collaborate with Consumer Insights, eCommerce, and IMC to ensure performance strategies are grounded in data, customer behavior, and business priorities.
- Develop and own measurement frameworks for paid media, social, PR, and partnerships, including CAC, ROAS, CPA, CVR, and incrementality where applicable.
- Continuously test, learn, and optimize across channels to improve efficiency, scale what works, and inform future investment decisions.
- Strengthen performance execution across franchise and owned markets through scalable media strategies, local amplification frameworks, and partner activation.
- Manage performance marketing budgets with discipline and rigor, ensuring efficient allocation of spend and clear return on investment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing performance marketing team and agency partners, fostering a culture of accountability, experimentation, and results.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years in brand, performance, or integrated marketing leadership within retail, beauty, wellness, or consumer sectors.
- Proven ability to build high‑impact paid media strategies that drive measurable business results.
- Deep expertise in performance marketing, digital channels, testing frameworks, analytics, and media optimization across omnichannel environments.
- Strong foundation in brand building, creative strategy, and multi‑channel storytelling.
- Robust experience leading influencer programs, from sourcing and contracting to performance optimization and long‑term partnership development.
- Highly analytical, adept at translating data into insights that guide strategy and execution.
