Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a senior-level HR Generalist / Payroll Specialist to support and manage day-to-day human resources operations. This role is heavily focused on payroll processing, HR administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle management, while also contributing to process improvements and overall HR strategy.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and creative, with the ability to understand current processes and enhance them for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Systems
- Process semi-monthly payroll (24 pay cycles annually) using ADP Workforce Now
- Manage payroll reporting, including:
- Journal entries in NetSuite (ERP)
- 401(k) reporting, funding, and reconciliation
- Maintain accurate payroll records, time-off tracking, and compliance documentation
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and regulations
- Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and employment agreements
- Manage HR documentation and employee records
- Support audits and ensure proper recordkeeping standards
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate and manage new hire onboarding, including documentation and system setup
- Maintain and track annual performance review cycles
- Support employee relations and HR-related inquiries
Benefits Administration
- Manage employee benefits programs, including:
- 401(k) administration (Empower platform preferred)
- Health and wellness benefits
- Lead open enrollment and benefits communication
- Handle employee enrollments, changes, and terminations
Recruiting & HR Support
- Assist with recruiting coordination and administrative support
- Partner with leadership to support hiring and workforce planning efforts
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Evaluate current HR processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Leverage tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and AI platforms to streamline workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational goals
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HR Generalist and/or Payroll-focused roles
- Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now (required)
- Experience with NetSuite (ERP) preferred
- Knowledge of 401(k) administration (Empower platform a plus)
- Strong understanding of multi-state HR compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment
