Beacon Hill has partnered with a growing non-profit organization in downtown Chicago to start immediately! Our client is focused on providing humanitarian support for individuals and families affected by homelessness, war and food insecurity.
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day human resources operations for a mission-driven nonprofit organization
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, orientation, and onboarding paperwork
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS data with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with recruitment efforts such as posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Assist with payroll preparation, timekeeping, and compliance documentation
- Help coordinate performance review cycles, employee training, and compliance initiatives
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, and HR programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and nonprofit HR best practices
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including reporting and special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 1+ years of HR, HR administration, or coordinator experience (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and HR systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
- Commitment to the mission, values, and culture of a nonprofit organization
