Seeking a licensed California paralegal or law student/recent graduate to join a solo practice. You must be available to work fixed hours Monday to Friday during business hours, but we can be flexibility with days/times. Experience or familiarity with special education and disabilities preferred. Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required.
Duties:
- Intake for clients
- Communicate with clients to obtain documents and full records
- Review, organize, and categorize records
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various topics
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents (ex: complaints, demands, motions, etc.)
- Review and summarize IEPs and legal documents
- Assist with document management and organization
- Attend meetings with attorneys and clients to gather information
- Prepare drafts of correspondence and other written materials
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
Qualifications:
- Licensed paralegal (required) or current law student/recent graduate
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in legal research databases and software
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
- Previous experience as a paralegal or law clerk is a plus
- Previous experience with IEPs or children with disabilities a plus

Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week initially, with opportunity for additional hours in the future. Flexible schedule and fully remote. Open to candidates throughout California, but preference given to those within driving distance of San Diego.
