National City Company (4 miles South of Downtown San Diego) is seeking a Part-Time (leading to Full-Time) material handler, forklift operator, and general helper at our metal Job Shop. Candidate should have a minimum of two years' experience in the metal trades, and forklift experience. Job available start date: Immediate
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with part production
- Load customer vehicles using a Forklift
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels for shop supplies and metal stock
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position:
- Must have experience with Metals: Material Types, thicknesses, alloys etc.
- Forklift Experience Necessary
- Ability to read, measure and check work from drawings
- Mechanically inclined, has the ability to repair/rebuild equipment components
- Understanding of general machine shop procedures and safety awareness
- Ability to work in team environment as a contributor and a leader
- Reliability and timeliness is essential
- Ability to stand and move for up to 8 hours daily
- Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds
- Work around sharp metals
- Ability to stretch up and bend down on a regular basis
- Reliable work attendance a must
- Prepare orders for pickup by customers (stretch wrap, box, skid, etc.)
