As a direct support professional (DSP), you will be part of a team that provides supports and empowers children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, medical needs and social challenges.

Qualifications:
· Must be 18 years of age
· Dependable, punctual and flexible
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Pass a criminal history background check
· Job requires frequent lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
. Current active CPR & OIS certifications preferred but not required
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain a clean, safe environment for the people we support free from harassment and abuse.
· Provide quality, compassionate care to the people we support and allow for autonomy as safety permits. Provide support with activities of daily living including, but not limited to: meal preparation, personal hygiene, laundry, household cleaning, chaperone appointments.
· Be a positive, respectful, caring, therapeutic and engaging support person for the people we support.
· Exemplify professionalism and positivity in your interactions with family members, medical professionals and fellow team members.
· Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate success and growth in the people we support.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans (ISP) and ensure they are followed and consistently documented.
· Working knowledge and implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSP), Nursing Care Plans (NCP), Individual Protocols and Oregon Interventions Systems (OIS).
· Ensure all required documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner in accordance with State of Oregon and aHope,INC. expectations.
· Complete all required trainings and maintain competencies.
· Experience with medication administration (preferred, not required), be willing to perform nurse delegated tasks as necessary (training and supervision provided).
· Obtain vital signs and be able to recognize changes in condition.
