JOB TITLE: CNC Lathe Machinist
JOB TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt
WORK LOCATION: In office, no remote work
WORK SCHEDULE: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday (OT available)
STARTING PAY RANGE: $22.00-$27.00/HR (dependent on experience)
We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Lathe Set-up to join our day shift. In this role, the CNC lathe Set-up will set-up, operate, and program CNC lathe machines and ensure parts are produced according to customer drawings and specifications. Prior CNC lathe experience is required.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and machine shop experience, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.
Essential job duties and responsibilities:
• Machine materials in accordance with drawings, programs, and blueprint specifications using CNC lathe machines and inspection equipment
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate, high-quality finished products for customers
• Use basic inspection tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify parts meet engineering specifications
• Perform daily inspections of CNC lathe machines and report any issues or problems as they arise
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance to keep equipment free from foreign object damage
Education and work experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1–2 years of CNC lathe experience required
Knowledge and skills:
• Ability to operate and set-up CNC lathe machines
• Ability to create CNC lathe programs (manually or using software)
• Proficiency in the use of basic inspection tools
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and blueprints
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively and respectfully with team members
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical demands:
• Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a warehouse environment, including standing for extended periods. The role may also require occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light to moderate weights. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
