Landscape Maintenance Manager
Coastal San Diego - Office is based in Encinitas, CA
About the Role
We are seeking a Landscape Maintenance Manager to lead and evolve our Maintenance Division as we prepare for the next phase of growth. This is not a turnaround role—our maintenance operations are stable, supported by experienced crews, strong field execution, and committed office support.
This role is about building forward.
Our current success is driven by individual ownership and effort. As we grow, we are intentionally transitioning toward a more structured, scalable operation. The Maintenance Manager will design and implement the systems, workflows, and accountability structures needed to support increased volume, leadership development, and long-term sustainability.
What You’ll Do
Take full ownership of Maintenance Division performance, including quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction
Develop and implement scalable workflows, routing strategies, and crew structures
Establish clear accountability systems for field teams and supervisors
Lead hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of maintenance crews
Partner with office staff to improve scheduling, communication, and administrative support
Build and track key performance metrics (production rates, labor efficiency, retention, etc.)
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and profitability
Support the gradual development and formalization of functional roles within the division
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in landscape maintenance operations, with leadership responsibility
Strong understanding of route-based maintenance, crew management, and production tracking
Experience building or improving systems—not just maintaining existing ones
Ability to lead both in the field and through systems and structure
Clear communicator who can align field teams and office staff
Comfortable in a growing company environment where processes are being built and refined
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Computer literacy: Microsoft Suite, QuickBooks, Estimating software
Why This Role Matters
