Our client, a global industrial technology organization with a strong international presence, is seeking a General Manager, Americas to lead commercial operations across North America, Canada, Mexico, and select South American markets. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving regional growth initiatives, executing divisional objectives, and leading high-performing sales teams across a complex international landscape.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a proven track record of developing teams and delivering results within industrial or technical markets.
Essential Duties & Functions
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Contribute to regional business planning, budgeting, and execution of growth strategies.
- Lead the implementation of commercial initiatives aligned with broader divisional objectives.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability across the region while maintaining accountability for financial performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall business results.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and budget management while providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Promote consistency in processes, tools, and best practices across regional teams.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of sales leaders and commercial professionals.
- Support talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen sales capabilities through effective leadership, training, and ongoing support.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to support both short- and long-term growth objectives.
- Maintain close relationships with key customers and strategic partners across the region.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and evolving customer needs to inform commercial strategy.
- Partner cross-functionally with teams including product development, marketing, and operations to support business growth and customer success.
- Represent the organization at industry events, customer meetings, and leadership forums as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Significant experience leading sales initiatives within industrial, manufacturing, mechatronics, or other technical environments.
- Demonstrated success managing regional or international sales teams, including leadership of sales managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and commercial strategy development.
- Experience with CRM platforms and ERP systems such as SAP, AS400, or similar technologies.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as business needs require.
