JOB DESCRIPTION
May be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual
enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional
campus-based training.
Primary Purpose:

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s in fine arts, art, or art history
OR
Bachelor’s in any of the above
AND
Master’s in humanities
OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing
service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter
area;
OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related
education, training, employment and professional experience that
would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this
field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the
“Master of Fine Arts” (MFA) degree when that degree is based on
specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video,
photography, creative writing or other nonplastic arts.)

Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically
underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional
students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning
disabilities.
Working Conditions:Salary Range: $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lecture unit rate,
$1572.67 - $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16 - $1380.60
per lab unit rate

SUMMARY
This recruitment will remain active for a period of one
year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need
to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary
faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill
arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time
faculty.
