The Film Lab is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and motivated Film Lab Production Technician to join our team.
This is a production-focused role within a fast-paced film lab environment where quality, efficiency, organization, and attention to detail are essential. Our lab specializes in same-day and next-day turnaround services, making speed, accuracy, and workflow management critical components of the position.
Technicians are cross-trained across multiple areas of the lab, including film scanning, image uploading and quality control, printing, passport photo services, equipment maintenance, and general lab operations. New hires typically begin training in one department before gradually expanding into additional areas of the lab.

- Film Uploading & Image Quality Control
- Film Printing & Order Production
Responsibilities
- Process customer film orders while maintaining quality and accuracy standards
- Review digital scans and perform image quality control checks before delivery
- Use Adobe Photoshop and related tools to identify and correct dust, scratches, and other scan-related issues when necessary
- Ensure customer files are organized, accurately processed, and delivered to the correct customer
- Follow customer order instructions and workflow procedures with close attention to detail
- Organize and archive digital files, negatives, prints, and completed orders
- Operate professional film scanning equipment
- Operate professional printing equipment and fulfill customer print orders
- Assist with passport photo services, including image preparation, printing, and digital delivery
- Learn proper startup, shutdown, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting procedures for lab equipment
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace
- Assist with general lab duties and operational needs as required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain accuracy while working efficiently
- Ability to multitask and prioritize changing workloads
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions when needed
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
- Ability to learn technical workflows and operate specialized equipment
- Photography, film photography, print production, image editing, or photo lab experience is a plus but not required

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy organized workflows, efficiency, problem-solving, and completing tasks accurately within deadlines. While an interest in photography and film is a plus, this is ultimately a production-focused position that requires balancing quality, speed, and consistency throughout the workday.
