A leading digital streaming network seeks a Senior Manager - Business Affairs to support the Features division by managing music agreements, licensing workflows, payment approvals, and music-related business affairs operations. This role partners closely with music attorneys and cross-functional teams to oversee music production agreements, rights management, and Airtable tracking processes across film releases.
Senior Manager - Business Affairs Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate work-for-hire music production agreements alongside music attorneys for feature film productions while supporting music licensing and clearance activities as needed.
- Manage Attorney Status Reports and Airtable tracking systems for agreements, deal memos, licensing, clearance workflows, payment status updates, and music asset management processes.
- Prepare, review, and maintain restriction memos related to film scores, original songs, and source music used in film releases while ensuring accurate documentation and database updates.
- Review and approve payments for work-for-hire, licensing, and music production agreements as a first-round approver while coordinating payment processing and tracking activities.
- Serve as a point person for music data tracking and asset management systems, including Airtable, ONSet, Trevanna Tracks, and iManage; support document requests, database research, and cross-functional music business affairs operations.
Senior Manager - Business Affairs Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of entertainment industry experience required, preferably supporting music business affairs, music licensing, music production, or legal affairs functions.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, or managing entertainment, licensing, or music-related agreements.
- Experience managing databases, tracking systems, or asset management tools such as Airtable, ONSet, Trevanna Tracks, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to comprehend, summarize, and modify complex contracts and agreements efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities across all organizational levels.
- A paralegal certificate or legal training is preferred.
- Music industry experience is preferred.
