The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production efficiency, product quality, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrate integrity, accountability, leadership, and sound judgment. This role requires the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Operational Management
- Supervise, coordinate, and direct daily production staff and work.flow.
- Ensure production schedules and deadlines are consistently met.
- Actively manage workflow to reduce unnecessary overtime while meeting operational demands.
- Demonstrate integrity and promote a culture of accountability and professionalism.
- Treat all employees fairly and with respect.
Attendance & Availability
Punctuality and consistent attendance are mandatory.
- Must be available and willing to work overtime on any scheduled workday based on operational requirements.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing production demands is an essential function of this role.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company policies, manufacturing protocols, and safety regulations.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Immediately report all workplace incidents, including bodily injuries, equipment damage, near-miss events, and safety hazards.
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts and powered industrial equipment.
- Verify all machinery and equipment are powered off when not in use.
- Ensure proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Quality Control & Batch Accuracy
- Ensure all manufactured products meet established Quality Control (QC) standards prior to packaging and release.
- Confirm all finished goods are properly packaged, labeled, and inventoried (PlU) according to company procedures.
- Verify that all raw materials and batch weights strictly follow approved formulations.
Ensure proper documentation of production batches and daily operational reports.
Raw Materials & Inventory Management
Ensure all raw materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain accurate raw material and finished goods inventory.
Coordinate with purchasing and management to prevent shortages or overstock conditions.
Equipment & Facility Oversight
- Ensure mixers, scales, filling systems, and related equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized at the end of each shift and prepared for the following production day.
- Oversee end-of-shift procedures, including:
o Cleaning dust collectors
o Draining and maintaining air compressors
o General facility housekeeping
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all equipment remains in safe and operational condition.
- Promptly report maintenance issues to reduce downtime and safety risks.
Technology & Reporting
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must be able to operate a tablet or similar device for daily event reporting, production tracking, and internal communication.
Accurately complete and submit required digital reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications
5-10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (paint/coatings industry preferred).
Basic computer proficiency and ability to use digital reporting tools.
Strong knowledge of batch manufacturing and production work:flows.
Understanding of OSHA and workplace safety standards.
Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
Forklift certification preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to [insert weight requirement].
Must be able to wear a respirator as required.
Will be exposed to dust, water, industrial chemicals, and manufacturing materials.
Must comply with all PPE requirements and safety protocols.
90-Day Probationary Period
All new hires are subject to a ninety (90) day probationary period beginning on the first day of employment. During this period, performance, conduct, attendance, safety compliance, and
overall suitability for the position will be evaluated. Employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period at the company's discretion.
Completion of the probationary period does not alter the at-will nature of employment
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
