What You’ll Do
You will play a critical role in ensuring a consistent, high-quality employee experience by helping manage key people operations processes. This includes driving the hiring workflow, managing onboarding workflows and employee lifecycle milestones, and overseeing contractor and event staff payments. You will bring structure and accountability while maintaining HR compliance and administrative standards, and supporting engagement programs that reinforce our culture. This role is centered on operational excellence and reliability to ensure timely and effective outcomes for our people and our business.

Core Responsibilities
- HR Compliance & Administration. Manage HR compliance processes accurately and in a timely fashion, including state registrations, new hire reporting, workers’ compensation reporting, required training tracking, and payroll compliance audits.
- Payroll Coordination. Owning the end-to-end payment process for event staff and contractors. Serve as the primary point of coordination between operations, payroll, and finance.
- Hiring Operations & Alignment. Own the day-to-day execution of the hiring process, including job postings, applicant flow, candidate communication, screening calls, reference checks, and maintaining workflow in JazzHR
- Employee Lifecycle. Manage onboarding workflows and employee lifecycle processes, including new hire setup and coordination of reviews. Ensuring employees and managers stay on track with key milestones and expectations
- Employee Engagement. Execute key employee engagement and recognition programs. Support initiatives that strengthen culture, improve retention, and enhance the employee experience
Must-Haves in a Candidate
- Emerging HR & Compliance Knowledge. Strong foundational knowledge of HR compliance, including exposure to multi-state regulations, payroll practices, and 1099 contractor management. You’re confident in navigating details, asking the right questions, and taking pride in getting things right
- Relevant Experience. 3-5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related field, ideally in a fast-paced or small-team environment with hands-on exposure to hiring, onboarding, and compliance
- Hiring & Lifecycle Experience. Experience supporting or owning hiring workflows and key employee lifecycle processes, with a focus on consistency, follow-through, and a strong candidate and employee experience
- Trusted Communicator & Culture Carrier. Clear, professional communicator who builds trust easily and shows up as a reliable, positive presence for employees, managers, and candidates alike
- Operational Excellence & Ownership Mindset. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, create structure, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. You take ownership and follow things through to completion
- Tech-Savvy & Systems-Oriented. Comfortable working across HR and productivity tools (HRIS platforms like Paycor or similar, Excel, Google Workspace, Asana, Slack), with the ability to maintain clean, reliable systems
Nice-to-Haves in a Candidate
- Experience supporting multi-state employees or 1099 contractor workflows, including a basic understanding of varying state requirements
- Experience helping implement, optimize, or improve HR systems and workflows (HRIS, ATS, onboarding processes, etc.)
- Proactive, resourceful, and motivated to take ownership without needing constant direction
- Able to think critically, navigate ambiguity, and find practical solutions quickly
- Familiarity with EOS frameworks and operating in a structured, accountability-driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, HR Certification, or demonstrated investment in growing HR knowledge and expertise.

- Competitive Compensation. Targeted salary is $60,000 to $75,000. The starting salary will depend on the skills and applicable experience you bring to this role.
