A growing mid-market engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead enterprise systems, infrastructure, and global IT operations.
With approximately 100 employees globally, the company designs and manufactures highly engineered mechanical systems used by customers around the world
Position Overview
The Director of IT will serve as the senior technology leader responsible for enterprise systems, IT infrastructure, and international technology operations.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can both execute and guide strategy, supporting day-to-day IT operations while building scalable processes and systems for a growing global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Systems & ERP
- Lead internal coordination of the company’s IFS ERP implementation
- Partner closely with the external implementation partner and cross-functional leadership.
- Ensure ERP alignment with manufacturing, distribution, and field service operations.
- Establish long-term governance and support structure for enterprise systems.
Global IT Operations
- Manage IT operations across multiple international locations in Europe and North America.
- Support collaboration with engineering teams, production operations, and international partners.
- Ensure secure and reliable systems across all sites.
Infrastructure & Technology Management
- Oversee core IT infrastructure, networks, enterprise applications, and cloud environments.
- Lead selection and oversight of the organization’s Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Ensure system reliability, cybersecurity readiness, and operational continuity.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead a small internal IT team and external contractors.
- Establish processes and structure to support operational maturity and future growth.
- Drive collaboration across engineering, operations, and finance teams.
Technology Strategy
- Align IT initiatives with business priorities and operational growth.
- Identify technology improvements that support efficiency across engineering, manufacturing, and service operations.
- Implement scalable IT processes and governance frameworks.
Qualifications
Required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in information technology leadership roles.
- Experience supporting multi-site and international IT environments.
- Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance execution and strategy.
- Experience managing enterprise systems, infrastructure, and external technology vendors.
- Background supporting manufacturing, distribution, or field service organizations.
