Field Service Estimator Location: Remote US
Reports To: Director of Estimating & Business Development
Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 Annually
Position Summary The Field Service Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, detailed, and technically sound field service proposals for electrical power distribution equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of field service operations, project execution, and proposal development. This shall include, but is not limited to, Scope of Work (SoW) documents, specification compliance, deviation, and exception (CDE) documents, and detailed technical proposals.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare technical field service proposals for maintenance, testing, retrofitting, and commissioning of electrical power distribution systems.
- Prepare CDE documentation, focusing on Section 3 - Execution.
- Create detailed Scope of Work (SOW) documents and responsibility matrices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure proposals reflect realistic execution durations and cost estimates.
- Participate in software development and enhancement meetings to improve quotation and estimating tools.
- Interpret and analyze technical specifications to ensure proposals meet client and industry requirements.
- Support business development, sales, and field service teams with accurate, timely quotations and scope clarifications.
Qualifications - Field Service Technician experience required.
- Experience generating proposals for field service or technical projects preferred.
- Experience interpreting electrical specifications and scopes of work.
- Bachelor's degree or related field equivalent technical training or certification accepted.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating tools.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferred.
- Software development or tool enhancement experience is a plus.
