Purpose of Job:
The purpose of this position is to support the execution of the SLI Shipments gross profit plan, forecast, and financial reporting. This role is a member of the Commercial Finance team, reporting to the Manager, Commercial Finance.
- Provide monthly reporting on gross profit variances vs budget on a month to date and year to date basis utilizing volume/rate/mix analysis.
- Work with Supply Chain Finance to understand and validate Cost trends and incorporate them into gross profit reporting.
- Provide analysis on product and customer profitability that can be used to inform business trends and help guide strategic direction.
- Manage reporting of profitability by customer (NAC P&L's) ensuring accuracy in assumptions and working with sales leaders to interpret and drive change in customer profit.
- Assist in managing the full year SLI Shipments forecast, primarily as it related to Gross Profit, identifying YTD trends and variances from budget to provide an accurate view of financial expectations.
- Assist in integrating S&OP demand planning metrics into financial forecasts to align company sales expectations with financial performance.
- Help build and validate the full year Annual Operating Plan (AOP) with an emphasis on gross profit including revenue, subsidies & rebates, COGS, and other P&L items.
- Support the evaluation and analysis of Ad-Hoc company initiatives as they arise, providing clear, data driven recommendations.
Job Components:
- Monthly reporting of SLI Shipments financials (25%).
- Assist with full year financial forecasting including S&OP integration (25%).
- Maintain National Account P&Ls and customer profitability reporting (10%).
- Ad Hoc analysis as required (15%).
Qualifications:
- BBA in Accounting/Finance, or other analytical field preferred
- 4+ years financial reporting experience and exposure to gross profit reporting preferred.
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced experience in Excel & PowerPoint.
- Experience with PowerBI, SAP, and/or SAC and working with large data sets is desirable
- Performs well under pressure, can manage multiple tasks and complete projects within specific deadlines.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to process information and make the right decision in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 10+ lbs.
- Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
