Role SummaryThe
Cost Accountant plays a key role in supporting our U.S. manufacturing operations by delivering accurate and insightful cost reporting and analysis, helping drive informed decisions that impact profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, variances, and margins
- Partner with production and operations to ensure accurate cost tracking
- Review sales quotes to ensure full and accurate cost allocations
- Perform profitability and cost analysis for products and product lines
- Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, including cycle counts and adjustments
- Support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close
- Assist in compiling monthly financial reporting packages
- Investigate and explain significant expense variances
- Reconcile key accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Continuously improve cost accounting procedures and internal controls
- Support special projects and financial initiatives as assigned
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of US GAAP
- ERP experience required; Oracle JDE preferred
- Proven career progression in accounting roles
Skills & Competencies- Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
