About the opportunity
Lead the modernization of enterprise nurse call and mobile clinical communication systems for a health network in Ventura, California. This long-term contract combines complex healthcare technology delivery with clinical workflow transformation, nursing engagement, and end-user adoption.
Your initial focus will be an enterprise nurse call implementation across acute care facilities. Following successful deployment, you will lead additional clinical technology and workflow initiatives across acute and ambulatory care settings. The role requires onsite collaboration in Ventura three days per week.
## What you will do
- Lead planning, deployment, testing, cutover, and adoption of nurse call and clinical communication systems, aligning delivery with clinical requirements, safety standards, and technical infrastructure.
- Partner with nursing leadership, Clinical Informatics, and frontline staff to map current and future workflows, assess change impacts, develop training strategies, and support adoption.
- Coordinate Clinical Operations, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Facilities, IT Infrastructure, and implementation vendors.
- Oversee integrations among nurse call platforms, clinical smartphones and devices, middleware, and EHR alert and alarm routing systems.
- Manage schedules, resources, risks, dependencies, and executive status reporting within enterprise PMO frameworks.
- Lead go-live stabilization and optimization, then transition into other priority initiatives such as patient monitoring, clinical communication, and nursing technology enhancements.
## Required qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive project or program management experience in complex enterprise environments, including at least 5 years in healthcare IT or clinical systems.
- Successful delivery of nurse call or Clinical Communication and Collaboration (CC&C) implementations in an acute hospital setting.
- Demonstrated experience leading clinical change management, nurse engagement, and workflow redesign.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Deep familiarity with modern nurse call platforms and alarm safety/fatigue mitigation strategies. Relevant platforms may include Rauland, Hillrom/Baxter, or ASCOM.
- Hands-on experience integrating clinical communications with major EHR systems and mobile communication endpoints.
- Understanding of hospital cabling, low-voltage installation, wireless coverage, and hardware integration requirements.
- Expertise with enterprise project and portfolio management tools such as ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or Planview.
- Ability to build credibility and consensus with nursing leadership, nurses, physicians, and Clinical Informatics teams.
- Ability to combine Waterfall delivery for physical infrastructure and facility cutovers with iterative approaches for software configuration, testing, and training.
- Ability to work onsite in Ventura, California, three days per week.
## Preferred qualifications
- PMP certification, strongly preferred.
- RN or other clinical background.
- Prosci or equivalent change-management certification.
- Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner or Epic, and clinical communication technologies such as Voalte, CareAware, Zebra, or Epic Rover.
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Contracts & Vendor Management Consultant for a 12-month engagement supporting an Information Technology organization in Ventura, California.
This is a senior-level role for someone with substantial experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing complex technology contracts and vendor relationships. The consultant will work closely with IT leadership, legal, procurement, finance, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate complex IT agreements, including:
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) agreements
Master Services Agreements (MSAs)
Statements of Work (SOWs)
Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Software licensing and related technology agreements
Manage vendor relationships throughout the contract lifecycle
Review contract terms, deliverables, acceptance criteria, pricing, and risk
Monitor vendor performance, KPIs, SLAs, renewals, and contractual obligations
Support cost negotiations, budget tracking, and financial review of vendor deliverables
Identify contractual, commercial, operational, and financial risks
Coordinate contract issues across IT, legal, procurement, finance, executive stakeholders, and vendors
Assist with dispute resolution, remediation, and vendor performance issues when needed
Required Experience
7+ years of progressive experience in contract management, vendor management, procurement, legal review, or a closely related field
5+ years directly drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology agreements
Strong knowledge of IT contracting terms, software licensing, commercial terms, intellectual property, risk allocation, and vendor management
Demonstrated experience working with SaaS agreements, MSAs, SOWs, and SLAs
Strong negotiation, analytical, written communication, and stakeholder-management skills
Ability to independently manage multiple contract reviews and vendor matters
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline
CPCM, CFCM, CRCP, or similar contract-management certification
Experience supporting enterprise IT organizations
Healthcare technology contracting experience
Experience with Oracle Health / Cerner contracts or SOWs is highly desirable but not required

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with a hybrid schedule requiring onsite work in Ventura approximately three days per week.
The anticipated hourly rate is $75–$95/hour, depending on directly relevant experience and qualifications.
