We are looking for a hands-on, dependable, and highly versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our team. This is a “jack-of-all-trades” position for someone who can wear many hats and is comfortable troubleshooting, repairing, building, welding, and maintaining equipment and facility systems.
The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't need to be told how to fix every problem. You should be able to identify an issue, troubleshoot the cause, determine a safe solution, and get the job done.
Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, warehouse, or processing environment is highly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform general building and facility maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues, including leaks, faucets, toilets, drains, valves, and water lines.
• Troubleshoot and address basic electrical issues, including outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, and minor electrical repairs.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication as needed.
• Operate basic maintenance machinery, hand tools, and power tools safely.
• Repair, modify, assemble, and fabricate equipment, racks, tables, fixtures, and other items.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs to doors, gates, locks, fixtures, shelving, and other facility components.
• Perform painting, patching, caulking, drilling, cutting, grinding, and other general maintenance tasks.
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify potential safety hazards and report them to management.
• Assist other departments with maintenance-related needs when necessary.
• Keep track of tools, materials, and maintenance supplies.
• Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in general maintenance, facility maintenance, handyman work, manufacturing maintenance, or a similar position.
• Welding experience is required.
• Ability to use basic maintenance machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing systems and repairs.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read basic measurements and use common measuring tools.
• Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, saws, welders, and other shop equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
