Mellano Farm Stand is a working family farm in inland Oceanside and is a destination where people come to visit the farm, enjoy fresh flower & produce, connect with agriculture, and have fun making great memories. We're looking for a creative, energetic, hands-on Agricultural Events & Farm Activities Coordinator to help us grow our events and agricultural tourism experiences.
This is a brand-new role, so you'll have the opportunity to bring your ideas to the table and help shape what this position becomes.
What You'll Do:
Coordinate farm tours, school field trips, weekend festivals, classes, summer camps, dinners, and other special events
Help develop new and creative farm experiences
Manage event logistics, vendors, supplies, setup, and day-of operations
Communicate with customers, schools, vendors, instructors, and community partners
Help promote events through social media and other marketing
Create engaging content showcasing the farm and guest experiences
Represent Mellano Farm Stand at community events and festivals
Jump in wherever needed to help create a great guest experience
We're looking for someone who is:
Creative and energetic
Organized and dependable
A strong communicator and problem solver
Comfortable working with the public
Hands-on and willing to pitch in wherever needed
Comfortable with social media and creating content
Flexible with schedules, including weekends and occasional evenings
Excited about agriculture, the outdoors, and creating memorable experiences
A degree is desired though not required, but previous experience in event planning, hospitality, tourism, marketing, education, recreation, and/or agriculture is necessary.
The Environment - This is a hands-on position at a working farm, not an office job. While you will definitely spend your fair share of time in front of a computer, you should be very comfortable working outdoors, standing/walking for extended periods, navigating uneven surfaces, and lifting up to 35 lbs. Event setup and breakdown are part of the job.
