Line Cook / Cocinero (Cocina) (La Verne)
Busy AYCE Japanese sushi restaurant in La Verne is looking for a dependable, hardworking Line Cook to join our kitchen team.
Pay: $16.90/hour + tips
Current Open Shifts:
Wednesday: 4:00 PM – Close
Thursday: 4:00 PM – Close
Friday: 4:00 PM – Close
Saturday: 4:00 PM – Close
Sunday: 4:00 PM – Close
Shifts include a 30-minute meal break.
We prefer a candidate who is available to cover all five open shifts, but candidates who can consistently work several of these days are also encouraged to apply. Please tell us exactly which days you are available.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
Set up and maintain a clean, organized station
Operate fryer, grill, and other kitchen equipment safely
Complete food prep, restocking, opening, and closing duties
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
Maintain portion and presentation standards
Work efficiently with the kitchen team during busy service
Qualifications:
Previous restaurant kitchen experience preferred
Japanese restaurant experience is a plus
Reliable and punctual
Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
Able to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions
Team-oriented and willing to help where needed
California Food Handler Card required upon employment
