Payrate: $19.00 and up, dependent on experience and education
Key Responsibilities
Inspection: inspect components, and parts for conformance to specifications, following:
o Blue prints
o Drawings
o Production travelers
Measuring: Measures parts and plated areas for conformance, uniformity and thickness to specified dimensions, using precision measuring instruments, such as:
o Micrometers
o Vernier calipers
o Gauges
o Micrometers
o Dial indicators
Examination and Recording: examine parts for surface defects, such as chips, scratches, and pinholes, or dark plating areas. Examines production documents to ensure that all inspecting, and testing steps were performed according to specifications. Records inspection data, such as type and percent of defects, and rework required.
Functional and Operational Testing: Using electronic test equipment, such as:
o Xray
o Also, performs destructive testing to determine adhesion of product or part
o Also, performs solder testing using molten solder
Authority: Has authority to reject plated parts deemed non-conformant, in addition to, reject incoming material as non-compliant prior to processing.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience: 1-3 years of relevant work experience
Required Skills: Instrument/tool experience:
o Microscope
o Micrometer
o Caliper
o Gages
Preferred Skills: Willingness to learn and be cross-trained in other areas of production
Physical Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and spend long hours sitting at a desk
