Title: Experienced Architectural Drafter or Designer, Part-Time to Full-Time.
Location: Greater Santa Ana, CA, and surrounding areas.
Job Description:
We are seeking a capable Architectural Drafter or Designer to join our team based in the Santa Ana area. We specialize in residential design, including custom home plans and room additions, as well as navigating the city submittal process for ADUs, JADUs, and license procurement to resolve city code violations. Our projects span various municipalities in Orange County and Los Angeles.
The ideal candidate does not need a minimum number of years of experience but must have the technical know-how and demonstrated experience handling complete plan sets and city submittals. Candidates should already possess the skills necessary to perform the core duties of the position with limited supervision and should not require extensive training in basic Revit, drafting, or architectural documentation.
The position will involve working on active residential projects from initial project information through plan development, revisions, and city submittal. The ability to understand project requirements, identify potential issues, and produce accurate drawings without constant supervision is important. The position can be a partial hybrid, but full hybrid will not be available
Key Requirements:
* Revit proficiency is required.
* Practical experience preparing full plan sets for home designs, additions, ADUs, and license applications.
* Ability to address correction notices and resolve infractions efficiently.
* In-depth understanding of local Planning and Building and Safety department requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to interpret project information, sketches, measurements, and design direction and translate them into accurate construction documents.
* Strong understanding of residential floor plans, elevations, sections, details, dimensions, and construction documentation.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing and revising plans.
* Ability to work independently and manage assigned projects and revisions.
* Ability to communicate effectively regarding project requirements, revisions, and technical issues.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple active projects when necessary.
* AutoCAD experience is a plus but is not required.
**Experience:**
We are looking for someone with actual, practical experience using Revit and producing architectural drawings. A specific number of years of experience is not required, but applicants should be able to demonstrate that they have the technical ability to perform the work.
This is not intended to be a position for someone learning Revit or architectural drafting from the beginning. While training will be provided for our specific company procedures, project standards, and workflow, the candidate should already have the fundamental skills and knowledge required to contribute to projects once hired.
