Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic with expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical issues with our trailer fleet. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of air brake systems, welding, basic fabrication, and experience performing 90-day inspections on equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on 2-axle tractors and bottom dump trailers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Conduct air brake system repairs and maintenance.
• Perform welding and basic fabrication as needed.
• Perform 90-day inspections on equipment in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic, preferably in a trucking or fleet maintenance environment.
• Strong understanding of air brake systems with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot.
• Proficient in welding and basic fabrication techniques.
• Experience and qualification in performing 90-day inspections on equipment.
• Own basic tools required for routine repairs.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Willingness to operate a service truck and provide mobile repairs at various locations is a plus.
• Flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed.
