HOSPITALITY PROFESSIONAL → BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
$55,000–$65,000 + COMMISSION | SAN DIEGO
The Party Staff, Inc. – San Diego, CA
Are you great with people and know the hospitality industry, but ready for something beyond working the floor?
Maybe you’ve worked in hotels, catering, restaurants, banquets, events, corporate dining, private clubs, staffing, or hospitality operations.
We’d like to talk to you.
The Party Staff, Inc. is hiring a Business Development Representative for our San Diego office. We’re looking for someone who understands hospitality, enjoys meeting people, and can build genuine professional relationships.
You do NOT need to come from a traditional sales background.
We can teach the sales process. What we’re looking for is someone who understands service, communicates well, follows through, and isn’t afraid to introduce themselves to new people.
COMPENSATION
• Base salary: $55,000–$65,000/year
• Commission based on individual sales production
• Expected annual commission opportunity: approximately $5,000–$12,000
• Uncapped commission opportunity under the company commission plan
• Opportunity to build and manage your own book of business
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) and 401(k) matching
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO
You’ll spend your time building relationships with hospitality businesses throughout San Diego.
That includes:
• Visiting hotels, resorts, caterers, event venues, corporate dining operations, universities, and private clubs
• Meeting F&B Directors, Banquet Managers, Executive Chefs, Catering Managers, and other hospitality decision-makers
• Making sales calls, sending emails, and following up with prospective clients
• Attending hospitality networking events and industry functions
• Conducting client meetings, property visits, and presentations
• Learning about each client’s staffing challenges and figuring out where we can help
• Staying connected with the clients you develop and growing those relationships over time
• Working closely with our staffing and operations teams to make sure we deliver what was promised
This is relationship-based business development, not high-pressure transactional sales.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You may be a great fit if you:
• Have 2+ years of hospitality, food & beverage, events, client service, account management, staffing, sales, or related experience
• Know what great hospitality and customer service look like
• Naturally enjoy talking to people and building relationships
• Are comfortable walking into a business and introducing yourself
• Can communicate professionally by phone, email, and in person
• Are organized and actually follow through
• Enjoy networking and making professional connections
• Are self-motivated and comfortable managing your own priorities
• Have reliable transportation and can travel throughout San Diego for sales calls and client visits
IMPORTANT — THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION
This position is based out of our San Diego office in Mission Valley.
You’ll work from the office and regularly travel throughout the San Diego market for client meetings, property visits, networking events, and sales calls.
This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Some evening or weekend client and industry events may occasionally be required.
