How you'll make an impact in this role
- Orchestrate Centralized Care Flow: Lead and coordinate our centralized bed management system to streamline admissions, manage transfers, and maintain optimal hospital capacity without sacrificing speed or quality of care.
- Collaborate with Clinical Teams: Partner directly with unit nurses, physicians, and clinical staff to track real-time bed availability, anticipate upcoming discharges, and proactively plan patient placements.
- Ensure Clinical Appropriateness: Serve as the expert gatekeeper by evaluating all incoming admissions and transfers for medical necessity and unit suitability, taking swift action when resources or criteria fall short.
- Empower Admissions Staff: Provide strong direction, coaching, and support to our Admissions Coordinators, driving operational efficiency and fostering a supportive team environment.
- Analyze key patient flow metrics, spot systemic bottlenecks, and formulate data-driven solutions to present directly to executive leadership.
What minimum qualifications you'll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
What additional requirements you'll need
- 2-3 year's experience as RN in Medical Surgical, ICU, or Behavioral Health
- Cerner experience strongly preferred
