The Olive Tree Market, a neighborhood market in Ocean Beach with a high- volume delicatessen, is looking for a Deli Clerk/ Sandwich Maker. Individuals with a positive attitude who enjoy working in a fast -paced team environment are encouraged to apply. You’ll be able to count on a consistent daytime schedule always, 9:30am to 5:30pm. Plus earn a competitive wage based on experience. Please, only apply for this job if you are able to work weekends with two consecutive days off in the middle of the week.
Responsibilities
A Deli Clerk’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Preparing deli sandwiches fresh to order accurately in a fast- paced environment.
• Provides excellent customer service; greets and engages customers, providing helpful and friendly service and information needed to help customers make product-related decisions.
• Selecting and packaging salads and deli products ordered by customers.
• Maintains a clean work area at all times; keeps merchandise fresh in compliance with all health code regulations.
• Assisting in other duties, as assigned, including daily maintenance of deli department.
• Team player with a good attitude, who shows up to work on time, and is a respectful and responsible individual
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Deli department or food prep experience a plus, and knowledge of deli or related food service
• Basic knife skills and basic kitchen equipment.
• Strong ability to work well with people
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced food service environment
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and basic math skills
• Spanish, bilingual a plus
